April 2017 Favourites

by farrah

Been a minute since my last monthly favourites and I sincerely apologize for it. I just had sooo much going on in the past few months. Now, I’m back on track so definitely expect doing this in the next months from now on. Yahuuu! Also been trying to upload as often as I can on my Youtube channel. For those who haven’t, pleaaaase check it out and subscribe. Thank you in advance!! ^^

Moving on, here are my faves for the month of April!! I’ll be going over them one by one and if you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment! I looooove seeing your comments! Let’s start!

If you’re a fan of Maybelline, here’s something to add to your collection. I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED when I first tried this. This cushion is so good especially if you have oily skin. It leaves a nice matte finish that lasts all freakin’ day while controlling oil. It’s not so matte that your face would look flat. It’s the kind that would still leave my dry skin looking hydrated.

I got it in the 02 Light which is just the right shade. It doesn’t have SPF though which can actually be a good thing ’cause that means no white casts and I can just use my sunscreen. I reach for this more often than most of my cushions these days because of it. I got a little bit tan since it started becoming hot. And it just works so well in our hot temperature. This has medium coverage but really buildable. I highly recommend it! ^^

The packaging is actually not bad, too. I love the matte component. This retails for P749,00 only. It doesn’t come with a refill, though.

Here’s a before and after pic:

I received this around the same time I got the Maybelline one and I honestly thought that at least one of them would suck, but noooope. This is just as amazing – even better actually. If you have a thing with dewy finish, YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW!!! I’m not getting dramatic for no reason. This honestly by far is the prettiest dewy cushion I have ever tried in my life! No exaggeration there. I pinky winky dinky promise!! This just makes my skin look really healthy and moisturized without seeming oily.

Even people with oily skin will definitely enjoy this. It is dewy but it can definitely control oil well. Sometimes, I would put powder on top of it in case I’m gonna be out all day (’cause I do get shiny around my forehead) and my skin would still have a bit of that beautiful dewy glow. This is sooo good you guys. I can’t even!! It’s even better than most Korean cushions.

This has a light coverage that can go up to medium. You’d definitely need concealer on top of it if you have pimples and blemishes. I would reach for this more if only the shade was right since it’s a little bit too light on me but I guess I can fix it with some contouring.

I’m not in love with the packaging honestly but for what it does, I just instantly became a fan of this product. I was surprised when I found out that even Jaclyn Hill loves this! Kkkk!~

I am really enjoying as it does two jobs at once. It is a primer but also works as sunscreen. I used to be skeptic about primers but when you really notice its effects and you try the good ones, you’ll start to be a believer. This product literally can amp up any foundation/bb’s coverage to full or to almost full at the least.

This was one of the few things that I purchased for myself from my last trip to SK and it is just really good but honestly, Moonshot products, in general, are quite expensive.

The sales lady tried it on my hand and put foundation on top of it. She also put the foundation alone on one area of my hand. I was so amazed at the difference this made that I instantly threw this in my basket. I’ve been using this everyday and been loving it, but I don’t love it so much that I would repurchase it. I later realized how the packaging could be better and there isn’t really that much product in it to justify the price.

For its effect, I still thought that it deserves to be mentioned on this month’s favorite.

Probably one of the most bestselling lip product in South Korea right now. Peripera has been on the top of the top when it comes to lip tints and I heard so many good things about their new Airy Ink Velvet Tint that I had to try it.

I got it in the shade #02 which I think is the brightest of the bunch. Bright lippie colors are really trendy in Seoul these days so I chose this. It’s a really nice matte tint and feels moisturizing.

If you find gradient lips difficult to do, it might be a lot easier with this tint. It’s sooo smooth and creamy. The color is beautiful and it’s long- lasting. I regret not getting all the colors! Maybe, I still will.

Ugghh, I just love the texture. My love for this tint as of today, is at holy grail levels, you guys. The price ain’t bad either. 9000 won and that’s like about 400 pesos. I want more! I just don’t recommend applying this when your lips are dry and crusty. It ain’t gonna look like how it does in the pictures below.

Gradient. The Laneige Two Tone Lip Bars are nothing now. And RUMOR HAS IT, THEY ARE ABOUT TO COME TO THE PHILIPPINES! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Full. LOVE!

Moonshot Cream Paint in Hey Rosa

It’s the Blackpink’s lippie!!! I really wish Moonshot products weren’t as expensive ’cause I really really like their products so far, especially this cream paint. At 18000 won, I thought at the time, for the price, I should only get one (really, you can get a Mac lipstick for this amount!), I ended up using it so often recently. It has the most freakin’ perfect rose shade. I am obsessed.

This has a satin finish that’s kind of close to matte. I love how creamy it is and how smooth it applies. It feels quite similar to the Peripera Airy Ink Velvet but this is a bit heavier as it is also more opaque.

I like the silver packaging and how you can see the shade from outside. However, it’s been only been a week or two when I put this in my bag and the silver color on the component is starting to chip off – nooooo!

The applicator looks like a ballerina’s foot! Application is easy with it, no complaints.

Gradient effect.

It even works sooo pretty as a blush. *.*

I’m back to doing smudged liners. I just one day decided to buy two of these at The Face Shop. I actually also got this in black but I haven’t really used that one. I tend to gravitate towards brown eyeliners ever since I tried it so yeah.

What made me stop using pencil liners is how they dry off after a few months (Clio is one example). This is affordable yet works really great. It’s not the most buttery or smoothest eye pencil there is but it is still pretty good for the price (P395.00).  It’s pigmented and easy to use. I love how it’s kind of glittery and it does last all day.

What I especially like about it is how it has a smudger thingy on the other side.

I haven’t been very impressed with Nature Republic products aside from their aloe vera gel. Good thing, I gave this brow pencil a chance! When I swatched it on my hand, I was just dumbfounded. Y’all know how much I love my Etude House Auto Eyebrow Pencil and guess what? I’m finally over it! YES. I can’t believe that something better has been sitting in front of me this whole freakin’ time.

One word: precision! Yes, that’s what you get if you use a slim pencil. Not only it is slim, it also applies sooo smoothly. It’s pigmented and just slides so easily. The color is also very natural – really similar to my Etude House one.

And it also comes with a spoolie (A MUST!!).

I switch foundations/bb every single day depending on my mood. There are days when I find my skin looking like “WOAH, and dyosa ko naman!“. I’d backtracked which foundations I was using on those days until I realized that it’s not the foundation, it is this.

It evens out my complexion and makes it look so smooth and glowy LIKE NO OTHER. To be honest, I won’t even dare purchase something as expensive as this for a primer, but this primer really makes me question that thought. This made me realize that primers are important if you want to even level up your foundation finish! It really helps.

It’s this light purple lotion-y cream. It’s very lightweight, feels great on the skin, really good at getting rid of my redness, effectively blurs pores and works well with most of my foundations. For what its worth, you get a lot of product and you honestly need just a tiny bit of it to cover your face.

These two have been my go-to make-up removers for the past few months. These are oil-free, paraben-free and water soluble. Removing make-up with these is just so easy. They can take away my makeup with just one to two swipes. They don’t leave any feeling of burning, stinging or itching on my skin. They’re very hydrating and they’re so affordable(!). They’re just an overall really good makeup wipes. The only thing with the eye makeup remover, though, is that it can be quite stingy when it gets to the eyes so you have to be gentle when using it.

Some of you had been asking how I style my hair. I’d been using and loving my new Vodana Soft Bar Flat Iron. I simply curl my hair inwards and it is just so easy with this! It heats up in like 30 seconds and I do feel that it doesn’t dry out or damage my hair as much as my old one. I really look forward to styling my hair because of this and I like seeing it in my room because of its super yummy color(!). It glides on my hair so smoothly and I just love it!! 🙂

Hi Farrah! I’ve watched your IG live videos and you mentioned these products. I was impressed with the Peri Pera tint that’s why I looked for it online. One IG shop selling the Peri Pera Ink Velvelt. I wonder if it has the same texture with the airy Ink Velvet that you have. I also love the Etude House Eyebrow Liner but will try Nature Republic as well. ?

The Ink Velvet is a little heavier and thicker than the Airy Velvet! I saw a lot of people selling the Airy Velvet one on shopee 😀

Hi Farrah,
This is already an all in one package. Complete makeup products for a go. I am using Maybelline products but I haven’t encountered that BB new super cushion. Your model is charming and pretty. Thank you for sharing.
